When you’re a Philadelphia area photographer, there’s always something new and exciting just around the corner! I was in put in contact with Melissa, who’s wedding date was nearing very quickly and she needed someone to capture her day. The catch? She was getting married on a Thursday afternoon at the Philadelphia Courthouse! When I heard this, I knew I had to photograph it!
We planned to begin our portrait session at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for Melissa and Michael’s First Look. Even during the week, there’s always something happening around the city, but we managed to find a quiet spot for the two of them to meet and have a moment to themselves.
We couldn’t leave the museum steps without snagging some of the gorgeous skyline and architecture, so we spent some time photographing around the museum before heading off to Broad Street for more portraits.
They ended their time with me with a quick but intimate ceremony in the courthouse, with both of their mother’s, Michael’s son, and Melissa’s dad on a Skype call so he could see them wed, all the way from Puerto Rico!
Wedding photography is definitely one of my favorite genres to photograph, and it’s especially exciting when I get to step out of a “normal” wedding day and capture such a sweet moment for two people!
