Some people call use the Baby Whisperer, others wonder if we're a Baby Sorceress. And still, others ask if we're available to help calm their crying babies at home - sorry folks, we've got our own babes to take care of after we snuggle your sweet new little one!

We’ll use 16+ years of newborn photography experience to photograph your beautiful new baby in the Kennett Square newborn photography studio using neutral props and colors to enhance the beauty of what you’ve created. It's true, your eyes may water a bit when you see your stunning images. (We won’t tell anyone, we promise!)

Newborn Photo Session Details

Newborn babies are best photographed within the first four weeks of life. Babies remain squishy and sleepy during these first few weeks.

To secure availability in the booking calendar, pre-booking is highly recommended. However, please don't hesitate to reach out if the baby has already arrived. We can typically schedule a few last minute requests per month.

Newborn sessions:

  • Run approximately 1-3 hours in length (depending on your session selection)
  • Are held in the studio using carefully selected props to create a timeless gallery of images
  • Galleries will contain approximately 10-35 beautifully retouched images (depending on your session selection)

Types of Newborn Sessions

One-Wrap Mini Session
A one-hour mini-newborn session in the studio for baby only (no family or siblings). Baby will remain fully wrapped with one color selection.
Simply Swaddled Session
A two-hour session for the baby only. The baby will be posed and wrapped in a variety of colors and sets. Poses vary based on baby's sleepiness and age. Minimum purchase of 10 images.
Family Newborn Session
A two- to three-hour full family session + baby session - beginning with family portraits (and siblings with the baby, if any). Poses vary based on baby's sleepiness and age. Minimum purchase of 10 images.

Investment

All Studio Newborn Sessions have a separate session fee of $100 to book your session. The session fee must be paid in advance to secure your due date or session date in the calendar. Packages are purchased separately.

FAQ

I'M INTERESTED! WHAT'S NEXT?

Submit the Contact Form below and we'll be in touch! We will go over all the session details, including what to bring, what to expect on the day of your session, what to wear, and pricing / packages.

HOW DO I OFFICIALLY BOOK MY SESSION?

When you're ready to book your session, the studio session fee and photo contract is due. Once your baby is born, you will email us within 48 hours of giving birth - it is best to photograph the tiniest ones under 21 days, but we will photograph as a newborn up to one month of age.

WHAT IS A SESSION FEE?
The session fee is $100, and is for ANY studio session. This fee covers not only the planning and preparation for your session, but also making sure the studio is spic and span for each baby's arrival. Session fees are a separate cost from your package purchase.
HOW WILL I SELECT MY IMAGES?

After your session, we will carefully cull through the images we created. We will upload the UNEDITED images to a watermarked gallery for you to create a "Favorites" list. After you've selected your images for purchase, we will send an invoice. Invoices MUST be paid before editing will begin. Once payment has been made, editing can take anywhere from one to three weeks for delivery.

WHY IS THE ONE-WRAP MINI-SESSION LESS EXPENSIVE THAN THE 10 DIGITAL FILES PACKAGE?
The One-Wrap Mini-Session is just that: using one-wrap only, and is a quick mini-session. Less time in the studio, means less cost for you! The other two sessions require more set up (four to five color sets for the baby, instead of one, as well as family photos), more shooting time, and more editing time, so the price will be reflected in the packages. 
I BOOKED ONE TYPE OF SESSION - CAN I CHANGE MY MIND ON THE DAY OF THE SESSION TO A DIFFERENT TYPE OF SESSION?
It's difficult to change session types without advanced notice - for example, if you booked a One-Wrap Mini-Session, and decide upon arrival that you wanted a full newborn session, we may have another family arriving after you, and will not have time to photograph a full four to five sets without advance notice. If you think you may end up wanting more than what you booked, please try to email us a few days ahead of time - we may need to adjust our date or time to accommodate, but we will always try to make it happen for you!
WHAT DO WE WEAR / BRING?
We will go over this when we chat about the session details! But in general, neutral clothing is best so the attention remains on the baby and the family as a whole. As far as what to bring, the studio stocks all props that the baby will need (wraps, blankets, outfits, etc). You are welcome to bring snacks and lunch, as we will be photographing well into lunchtime hours.
WHAT IF BIG SIBLING / BABY DOESN'T COOPERATE?

Big sibling has just gone through a major life change. A little patience can go a LONG way! We're like the Mary Poppins of photographers - with a variety of tricks up our sleeve, we can assure you we will get those images. 

As for baby, again - a little patience can go a LONG way! You just let us worry about that. There's plenty we can do with an awake baby. It's rare, but in the case that the baby just won't calm down (they can't use their words, we don't know if they're gassy, hungry, not getting enough food, overtired, etc, etc). We will try again in a day or two. You'll have a full gallery to view, we promise!

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GET SICK? WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER?
It happens, unfortunately! We realize that rescheduling can be a bit of an inconvenience, but we will NEVER put a baby or family at risk if we are not feeling well. If this is the case, we will simply email you (either the evening before, or the morning of) and reschedule for the following week. 

Likewise, we will never risk a family's safety if we are due for weather to cause unsafe driving conditions. In the event of a snowstorm, hurricane, etc - we will reschedule for a few days later, when road conditions have improved. 

Your portraits are extremely important, and it can seem worrying when you've contantly been told "We have to photograph before the baby gets too old!" We are a firm believer in NOT stressing over your portraits - a photo session can be rescheduled - your family's safety will ALWAYS come first!

Please prepare for flexibility.
