Some people call me the Baby Whisperer, others wonder if I'm a Baby Sorceress. And still, others ask if I'm available to help calm their crying babies at home - sorry folks, I've got two babes of my own to take care of after I snuggle your sweet new babe!

I’ll use my 14+ years of newborn experience to photograph your beautiful new baby using neutral props and colors to enhance the beauty of what you’ve created. Your eyes may water a bit when you see your images. (I won’t tell anyone, I promise!)

Why Newborn Photography?

You may have come to my website with the excitement of what’s to come - dreaming about the tiny little fingers and toes, that sweet baby smell of a newborn - imagining what life will be like in just a few short weeks.

You may be reading this already snuggling a new tiny human in your arms, born just days ago, watching just how quickly their tiny features have already changed. How can we freeze this moment in time?

Newborn photography is about celebrating and documenting the start of your family’s journey. As a new mom (and dad), you’ve been through a remarkable journey, and newborn photos are a beautiful way to celebrate that. 

These photos aren’t just for now—they’re for years down the line. One day, your child will look back at those early photos and see how cherished and loved they were from the very start. 

Delaware Newborn Photography

The most important task when researching your Delaware Newborn Photographer is to find someone trustworthy, gentle, and with a style that fits your own. Blueprint Photography was established in 2010 - some might say I’ve learned a thing or two about photographing your adorable babies. I’m Jamie, the eyes behind the lens. I’ve been photographing people and nature since I was a junior in high school, and nope, I never thought this would actually be my career. But here I am, (many) years later, doing what I enjoy most!

I live in Landenberg, Pennsylvania with my husband Rich, and my two babies, Abby (10) and Liam (8). I have a master’s degree in Elementary Education and in my past life, I was an elementary school teacher. Blueprint Photography formed as I was teaching; shooting sessions after school and on weekends. Once my daughter was born, I transitioned to photography full time and enjoy the extra days I get to spend with my babies!

The Details

Newborn babies are best photographed within the first three weeks of life. Babies remain squishy and sleepy during these first few weeks. To secure availability in the booking calendar, pre-booking is highly recommended. However, please don't hesitate to reach out if the baby has already arrived. I can typically schedule a few last minute requests per month.

The Blueprint Photography newborn studio offers two types of sessions for your baby: a Family Newborn Session, and a Simply Swaddled Newborn Session.

Family Newborn Sessions

The Family Newborn Session will begin with beautiful images of the whole (immediate) family on the two Lifestyle sets in the studio. Siblings are then photographed with their new sibling. Finally, we focus on the squishy, perfectly-posed images of baby alone. 

 

  • Baby will be posed on approximately five neutral sets, using a variety of buckets, bowls, blankets, swaddles, and outfits.
  • Galleries will contain approximately 45-60 beautifully retouched images to select from.
  • Family Newborn Sessions usually run 2 to 3.5 hours in length
  • These sessions are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 am.

Simply Swaddled 

Simply Swaddled Newborn Sessions focus on capturing beautifully posed images of the baby alone on three neutral sets. Baby will be swaddled and posed in a variety of buckets and blankets to create a gallery of perfect images. 

 

  • The baby will be swaddled for the entire session - requests for outfits (no swaddle), sibling and parent photos, and hands in the images should schedule a Family Newborn Session. 
  • Galleries will contain 15 completely retouched images to download.
  • Simply Swaddled Newborn Sessions usually run 1 to 1.5 hours in length.
  • These sessions are scheduled on Wednesdays at 12 pm and 2 pm.

Styling the Session

All Newborn Sessions are styled with neutral tones at the forefront; I've coined the term "earthy organic" to describe these galleries. I curate galleries that focus on the baby, and use natural props and soft colors to enhance the image.

Investment

Each newborn session has a Session Fee, which contributes toward the preparation of each session (cleaning, laundering, and curating the set ups) and the props usage. Packages are purchased separately.

Please read the investment carefully for the two sessions. Due to the time and production differences in each session, pricing varies.

Family Session Investment

Family Newborn Session Fee: $200

Session fees are due to book your due date or session date.

  • Require an in-person Ordering Appointment to select your package.
  • All packages include a select number of digital images and beautiful products for your walls or shelves.
  • Ordering Appointments are held on Fridays (about two weeks after your session).
  • Packages are paid for on the day of your Ordering Appointment and digital images will be delivered via email by that afternoon.
  • Products will be sent directly to your home address.
  • Packages begin at $600 (separate from your session fee.) Most families invest between $1500-$2400 on their Family Newborn Session package and products.

Swaddled Session Investment

Simply Swaddled Newborn Session Fee: $100


Session fees are due to book your due date or session date.

  • One Digital-Only package (includes a variety of close up, full-set, and detail images).
  • High-quality products such as wall art and albums can be purchased separately, but are not included in this plan.
  • Your gallery of 15 images will be emailed within two weeks.
  • Payment will be made on the day of your newborn session.
  • The Simply Swaddled Newborn Session package investment is $750 (separate from your session fee).

The Studio

The Blueprint Photography studio is located near Hockessin, Delaware; it is convenient for anyone coming from Newark, Bear, Middletown, Dover, Landenberg, Kennett Square, Avondale, West Grove, Philadelphia, and beyond. The studio is a separate space all on its own, strictly dedicated to families and babies. No dogs or husbands to interrupt our sessions here!
