Maternity sessions are the perfect way to remember this special time, just before the baby arrives and your family grows! They're laid back, fun, and include the whole family (spouse and siblings).

Blueprint Photography offers two types of Kennett Square and Delaware maternity sessions: Studio or Outdoor.

Outdoor Maternity Sessions

Outdoor maternity sessions in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania take place in a location of your choice. My favorite locations are Gibraltar Gardens (Wilmington), Fair Hill Nature Center (Elkton, MD), downtown Kennett Square, and a lovely random field in the middle of Landenberg, PA.

Outdoor sessions schedule from April through November.

Outdoor sessions are a mix of posed ("formal"), and candid, fun images. Families are encouraged to join in on the session to document this special time.

Studio Maternity Sessions

Studio sessions are held year-round in my private Kennett Square photography studio, and are a great back-up option for an outdoor session in the event of bad weather. 

Studio maternity sessions allow for wardrobe changes and background changes. These sessions create images that are classic and timeless. Siblings and spouses are always encouraged to join! 

The studio stocks a selection of maternity gowns that are available to use (indoor use only). A "What to Wear" email will be sent upon scheduling.

 

Investment

  • Kennett Square maternity sessions have different price points and will depend on whether a studio session or outdoor session is scheduled.

  • Each session has a session fee + package selection.

  • Studio session fees are $200, and outdoor session fees are $100.

  • Studio packages begin at $595 and include 10 digital images + product selection. Outdoor packages are priced as a standard family session and are $995. They include the digital gallery + product selection.

  • When you book both your maternity session + newborn session with Blueprint Photography, you will save 10% off your newborn session package!

I'M INTERESTED! WHAT'S NEXT?
Submit the Contact Form below and I'll be in touch! We will go over all the session details, including what to bring, what to expect on the day of your session, what to wear, and pricing / packages.
HOW DO I OFFICIALLY BOOK MY SESSION?
When you're ready to book your session, the session fee and photo contract is due. We will select your session date and time and add it to the calendar.
WHAT'S THE SESSION LIKE?
Outdoor sessions are fun, relaxed, and very candid, focusing on the family's connections. We will meet approximately one hour before sunset at our designated location. The session itself will take about an hour. Please plan for one outfit for each family member - there are usually no changing locations available, and time is of the essence when we are working with available daylight.

Studio sessions are also fun and relaxed, and create stunning images focusing on the beauty of pregnancy. These sessions run about one to one and a half hours, and can include several outfit changes. While there is no limit on the number of outfit changes, in my experience, mamas tend to find three outfit changes managable. 

No matter which session you choose, you will be posed and directed to create flattering, beautiful images that feel relaxed and natural.
HOW WILL I SELECT MY IMAGES?
Outdoor sessions include one package with the digital gallery. You will receive your gallery via email within 3 weeks of your session. Complimentary product credits will be redeemed at your newborn session ordering appointment and must be used toward your maternity session.

Studio sessions: Before leaving the studio, we will schedule your Reveal & Ordering Appointment for about two weeks later. These are usually scheduled on Fridays. At this appointment, you will select your images, choose your complimentary products, and pay for your package. 
WHICH SESSION SHOULD I CHOOSE?
The good news is, there is no right or wrong answer!

Each style of session preserves the memories of this amazing time.

Personally, I lean towards a studio maternity session. The simplicity and focus on the future baby with simple backgrounds, beautiful posing, and different lighting techniques creates images that will make you gasp in awe. This will also introduce you to the studio so you will already feel at home by the time your newborn session is scheduled.

Outdoor sessions are also very fun and relaxed, and with children ages two and under, may feel that it is "playtime," which can be beneficial them. This session creates the memory of the family connections just before adding a new little one.
